Humans: Katy, Janie, Kirk, Jaenne, Colleen, and Jodi
Dogs: Zeke, Jasper, Scout, Hank, Lucy, Kip, Mo, Reena, Roy, Rio, Echo and Skar
Well, haven't been working dogs too much now. It's quite warm out. So ... Katy has graciously invited us to go swimmin' in her "cement pond" ... with the dogs! She doesn't need to ask us twice! She's a wonderful host, and we always end up with great food and never run out of beer!

Ok ... now something very fishy happened. When I first got there, I noticed that Katy was wearing this shirt:
Shortly thereafter, she was busy telling me some story about how her gardner showed up to mow the lawn, and how he was very shy about showing her something he'd found in the backyard. Despite the language barrier, he pointed Katy to a plant that was growing, oddly enough, in her garden. Katy claimed not to know what it was, or where it came from, but made sure the gardner understood "DO NOT PLUCK IT!" I'm not sure why she was so concerned about leaving it there, as it was not all that pretty, but here's a photo of the little thing.
Echo isn't falling for it.
Neither was Jaenne.
It was a gorgeous day, despite the heat. I took a few photos of the other pretty flowers Katy has in her garden.
Hey Kip, wanna go swimming?
Yes, but mom ... can you please give me some lessons?
Ok ... I think I am getting the hang of this.
"Hey! Is that a dog in the pool???"
The pool monitor springs into action!
Doing her job.
Uh oh. Now look what's happening here. Where's our pool monitor when we really need her?
Oh, there she is! "Hey Colleen! No glass by the pool!"
Hey Mo, what are you looking at?
"Just trying to figure out what's going on here..." (where's Lucy's head?)
Speaking of Lucy ... she wasn't real keen on the whole idea of the pool, but Janie decided to consult with the pro as to how to convince Lucy to get in ...
Lucy made no bones about giving Janie her opinion on the whole pool idea.
Janie promised her it would be ok ...
So after some last minute coaching from Aunt Katy ...
And some heckling from dad ... (nice doo, Kirk! hee hee)
... she took the plunge.
"Mom! Mom ... we need to talk. This is not cool. I don't like it. But I am the big, bad stockdog around here. I met you halfway ... you wanted me in here and I cooperated. So now I need you to do me a favor. I need to save face here. I can't let my buddies see that I'm absolutely terrified."
"So I have an idea ... if you just let me turn this way ..."
"... that should satisfy the moron with the camera over there. How's this look? Do I look relaxed?"
"Ok ... can I get out now? Thanks. Please don't do that to me again, k?"
Echo wasn't convinced, and still hasn't stopped laughing at the "Queen Stockdog."
Well, despite his swimming lessons, a terrible thing happened to Kip. He fell in the pool ...
... and it scared him so bad, his stub grew!
"What? Are you kidding me???"
Meanwhile, back at the ranch ...
Ain't no thing. I can do that too.
"Hey Skar ... Rio ... come over here and let this lousy photographer get a picture of all three of us so she'll stop snapping away like a crazy person, eh?"
"Oh yeah??? I'll bet not one of you girls can go like this!"
"Told you."
