Happy Mother's Day?

I miss my mother.

I think that says it best.

My son didn't even do the dishes, no less actually DO something nice for me. Oh well.

I really enjoyed my weekend hanging out at the Leaf with Katy and spending most of it at Big Willow. I've downloaded hundreds of photos that I need to edit, but here's my favorite shot of them all. Caught this on the way home from Janie's tonight.

I'm assuming it's a red-tailed hawk ... so Colleen ... feel free to correct me if I am wrong. It was flying around with that stick in its mouth, and would not fly into its nest, probably so it didn't tip me off as to where its young were. As soon as I drove away, I saw it go to the part of the tree where there was a giant nest.

Happy tails,
Jodi

  1. Happy Mother's Day!

I think we're changing the name of the Leaf to the Bert...in honor of my own mother and all her things that fill that place.

It was Dianne's idea and its a good one.

  2. Happy mother's day to all you moms. That is a great photo Jodi. Red-tailed hawk is always a good guess :) but I think it is another Swainson's hawk. Red-tails have a dark leading edge on the top of their wings that this one is missing. Bummed I missed Big Willow - next year. Miss you guys!

  3. Ok ... I give up! From now on, I will post the photos of the animals, and you will have to post and identify them for me.

I have one for ya. I'll post shortly.

Can't wait to see you! Two weeks! Woo hoo!

  4. Hey Colleen, I've added a couple more photos to it. Still a Swainson's? I guess I need to start taking pictures of some red tails so I can start telling the difference.

  5. I think its a bird. It's definitely not a pig because those don't fly. Yet.

But my ass is staying tuned
