Yikes ... catching up ....

Ok ok ... I haven't blogged in a while.

First ... the Jack Knox clinic ... very fun!  The Eastern Idaho Stock Dog Association ... what a great group of people ... and an awesome facility!  Echo worked well, and we got some much-needed pointers from Jack, so I'll be working on his suggestions.  Echo has all of a sudden decided that going to Egypt on her outruns is the preferred method.  I need to bring her back to the U.S. and make her think it's her idea.  You know ... fix one thing and something else goes wrong.   I call it the kaleidoscope effect.  Anyway ... photos from the clinic can be found HERE.  Check them out ... a few of Mo came out kind of cool.

Monday and Tuesday were pretty uneventful I think, or at least that's what my lame brain is telling me.

Wednesday, Dianne held lessons at Janie's place.  I have those photos ... I just haven't finished editing them yet.

Thursday, I went and picked up Bacon boxes from the butcher.  5 total.  Split it with Kirk & Janie.  Lots of bacon, ham, pork chops, etc.  Yummy!

Thursday evening, Mitch pulled in to town.  He'll be here until Monday afternoon.  It's nice to see him ... haven't seen him in a couple of weeks.  He took me out to dinner Thursday night to Applebees.  That evening, while we were sitting at dinner, a storm blew through, and holy cow!  There was a pond out where we parked!  There had to be 4" of water around the truck.  So Mitch stepped from the curb on to the front end of the running board of his truck, hugged his wet truck all the way down the running board until he could open the door and get in.  I walked down the street and he picked me up from there.  What a trip!  The rain really came down in a hurry and flooded quite a bit.  Cool stuff!

Woke up this morning and made breakfast over at Mitch's.  Bacon's bacon and Janie's duck eggs!  Woo hoo!  Yummy!

Farted around today, hitting some antique stores and such.  Looking at trucks.  I think I am going to trade my truck in for an older truck.  I'd like to get out of the payments I'm paying.  While we were at one of the used car lots, two kildeer started flipping out and dancing around.  (For those of you who have never seen kildeer in action, they lay their eggs just about any old place.  Then, when something threatens their "nest" ... they run away from the nest and throw themselves on the ground, pretending they're injured and showing off their beautiful colors, in hopes of attracting [distracting] the threat into following them, and then when the threat gets close enough to them, they take off, and hopefully the threat has completely forgotten about, or never saw, the nest.  Very cool thing ...)  I had the camera with me, and took far too many photos of the birds.  Reading the birds' flipout dance, you can lead yourself right to the nest.  Anyway, here's the photos.

And here are the eggs.  In the gravel parking lot, they are easy to miss and step on.  They blend right in.

Gee.  Was that enough photos of something so ... inane?
