Alopin'

Well, I'm riding more than I'm blogging.  That's probably a good thing.  The Just Horsin' Around group scheduled a ride for this morning on the other side of the lake, where Emily and I have been riding.  Easy and cheap.  Perfect.

People from all different walks of life.  The day was actually nice out, so I'm not sure why the lighting is so funky.

Robert (guy in the cowboy hat) rode next to me on the way home.  We led.  We asked if the group wanted to pick up the pace, and they weren't interested, so Robert and I took off.  I am working on getting Kahlua into a lope in short order.  She falls into a trot and it's hard to get her to lope.  So Robert charged ahead of me, I stopped, and then was able to get Kahlua to go almost straight into a lope several times in a row.  That was fun!  We are learning to communicate really well.

Fun time!  Looking forward to the camping trip this weekend, and a ride in the Owyhees next Tuesday.  :-)

  1. That's just what I was thinking as I looked at the photos- lots of different types of people and horses, all coming together and enjoying some time horseback. Still questioning your Decisions?

  2. Haha ... take note ... it was not ME that questioned my decisions! And I still don't! :-)
